Safety first! NHPS will stay closed Wednesday to finish cleaning up from the blizzard. We know it’s tough having the kids home for a third day, but we want everyone to be safe.

To help our students stay on track while schools are closed, we recommend the following daily routine:
Reading: At least 20 minutes of a book of their choice.
Homework: Review any current assignments.
Digital Learning: Log into Clever to access iReady, Lexia, and Google Classroom.

Thank you for helping us keep the learning going at home!

Our 5th and 7th graders are celebrating the Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse!) with a serious pop of color. Inspired by Eric Carle’s The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse, they took a break from "realism" to let their imaginations run wild.

In Chinese culture, the horse represents energy and freedom—and we think these vibrant masterpieces definitely nailed that vibe!

Our latest Town Hall was one for the books! We were incredibly honored to host the Yale Spizzwinks, the world’s oldest underclassman a cappella group. Their voices brought so much joy and energy to our campus!

The high note of the morning, however, was celebrating our Students of the Month. This month, we focused on a very special trait: Empathy.

In a world where you can be anything, these students chose to be kind. Whether it’s supporting a friend, standing up for a classmate, or simply listening with an open heart, these honorees remind us that character is just as important as academics.

Congratulations to our "Empathy Ambassadors"—you make our school a better place every day!

Happy Valentine’s Day! 🐯❤️

The energy was high at Truman School for our Half Day Tiger Play! Our special teachers put together some "heart-pumping" activities in the gym to celebrate friendship and teamwork. It was awesome seeing our Tigers stay active while building such great bonds with one another.

A huge shout-out and special thanks to the team that made it happen: Mr. DiMaria, Mrs. Currant, Mr. Visokay, Ms. Villa, and Ms. Nabakooza. Thanks for all your hard work in giving the students a fun way to celebrate community through play!

Ms. Gomez's students brought the beloved Guardians of the Galaxy hero to life in Ms. Nabakooza’s art room. In this lesson, students explored the art element of texture and the technique of figure making to create their own wood-inspired characters. Because Groot is made of wood and can regrow, these artworks beautifully symbolize life and renewal.
