Happy First Half-Day Tiger Day! 🐯🎃
What a roaring success our Half-Day Tiger Day was! Students enjoyed a super fun day packed with engaging activities, all organized by our amazing Specials Teachers (Music, PE, and Arts).
During their Specials time, our students got into the spooky spirit with a Halloween ambient theme for their games.
A huge thank you to our Specials Teachers for putting together such a memorable and fun-filled

Mrs. Rosario’s 1st graders in Ms. Nabakooza’s art room have been exploring texture and form by creating cardboard relief artworks. Using simple materials, they crafted fun and imaginative designs that truly showcase their creativity and attention to detail. It’s inspiring to see their ideas come to life through this hands-on project!

What a day we had for the Walkathon! The weather was absolutely perfect, and the joy and community spirit were off the charts! Seeing all our students and families walking together was truly inspiring.
Thank you to everyone who made it such a fantastic time—the creative chalk painting outside and the high-energy fun during the games kept the joy going all day long!
And here’s the best part: thanks to your enthusiasm and incredible generosity, we raised an unbelievable $5,000! 🎉
This achievement belongs to the entire Truman community!

Our 1st and 4th graders brought The Tortoise and the Hare to life in a fun literacy + art project in Ms. Nabakooza’s art room! After reading the classic story, they created their own colorful and creative artwork inspired by the characters and the lesson behind the tale. Love seeing reading and art come together!

Through hands-on activities and fun games, students are practicing multiplication in ways that make learning interactive and exciting. From songs to engaging challenges, they’re strengthening their math skills while enjoying every moment.

Our 8th graders are working on two awesome projects in Ms. Nabakooza’s art room!
They've been decorating boxes that they'll use for drawing exercises later this October — setting the stage for some creative work ahead.
At the same time, they're also building group models of Frida Kahlo’s art studio — here’s a sneak peek of one in progress!

Our 4th graders in Ms. Irizarry’s class completed this activity, sparking curiosity and seeing science in a whole new light!

But the fun didn’t stop there! They also explored Indigenous Spanish words by coloring the alphabet, learning new vocabulary while connecting with the rich history of Spanish-speaking communities.
It was wonderful to see their excitement and curiosity shine as they combined art, language, and culture in such a hands-on way. We’re so proud of their creativity and enthusiasm!
