Our creative 4th graders from Mrs. Seeley’s class spent a wonderful day in Ms. Nabakooza’s art room, where they designed and crafted their own wearable locket artworks. Students transformed their ideas into beautiful and meaningful pieces they can wear with pride.
We are excited to highlight our amazing 3rd and 4th grade students, who were honored last Friday for their hard work and positive contributions to our school community.

Last Friday was a standout day for our school! Check out the highlights:
🧩 No Place for Hate: Students worked on their Identity Puzzles, turning blank pieces into a vibrant display of what makes us unique and united.
🏆 Monthly Awards: We celebrated our Students and Teachers of the Month! Thank you for being such amazing role models.
🥁 Whitney Houston Challenge: Our gym was full of rhythm as students and staff took on the drum challenge with incredible energy!

Ms. Nabakooza’s 6th-grade artists are celebrating the New Year with these colorful 2026 balloon drawings! Great job, Grade 6!
Don't let exam stress get in the way of your hard work! Our Yoga Coach is sharing a simple, powerful tool to help Truman students stay "cool, calm, and collected" during test week: The Balloon Breath.
The Technique:
Fill the Balloon: Inhale deep into your belly (not your chest).
Slow Release: Exhale slowly to signal your brain that you are safe and ready.
Why it’s your Exam Superpower:
Calms the Nerves: Instantly lowers your heart rate.
Boosts Focus: Clears the mental "fog" caused by anxiety.
Total Control: You can do it right at your desk without anyone even noticing!
Coach’s Tip: Practice 3 "Balloon Breaths" the moment you get your test. Take a beat, find your focus, and then begin.

Plory, from iReady, came to visit the students at Truman last Thursday. Plory wanted to be sure to tell all the students to use their math strategies they have been learning, to use their scrap paper and to read the question 3 times. They will be starting the Diagnostic this week. We are excited to see how much growth our students made so far this year!! They have been working so hard. Let's Go Truman!
Our 3rd graders have been working so hard on their Math and ELA concepts this week!They’ve been reviewing Math concepts in small groups through i-Ready checks and playing whole-group games to make learning enjoyable. It is wonderful to see our scholars so engaged and excited to learn!
As students from kindergarten to 8th grade are preparing for testing next week, we encourage families to spend some time reviewing at home this weekend.
A little bit of practice goes a long way in building confidence! Whether it's reading a favorite book together or practicing some quick math facts, your support makes a huge difference.

Our 6th-grade artists are celebrating the season with these wonderful masterpieces! Their latest project captures the pure joy of catching falling snowflakes. We are so impressed by their creativity and the "cool" energy they’ve brought back to the classroom!

We hope everyone had a restful holiday break. We are kicking off the new year with high energy and even higher towers!
Our 7th-grade students dived straight back into learning with a thrilling STEM and Art challenge at Ms. Nabakooza`s art room. Working in teams, the objective was to engineer the tallest and most stable tower possible using only:
Dry spaghetti
Marshmallows
String
Tape
It was amazing to see our students collaborating, problem-solving, and testing their structural designs. There were a few "collapses" and plenty of laughs, but in the end, their teamwork reached new heights!
